Persist Through Failure

It’s getting close to the end of the year, that wonderful, happy time to reflect on all the great accomplishments you've made over the last year and celebrate with your friends and family. That's great and congratulations to all that have succeeded this year! But what about those who didn't accomplish what they wanted to this year and failed to reach their goals?

Let's Get Lean in 2014!!

****Tis the season for Fun, Rum and Egg Nog! Unfortunately, with all the hustle and bustle it is so difficult not to put on a pound or two during the holidays, maybe even more! Parties, skipping workouts, break rooms filled with Christmas cookies, and lord knows what from vendors that drop off platters of food at the end of the year! Before you know it your pants are snug and NO its not the DRYERS FAULT! Time to take control, OWN IT! Decide, LIFESTYLE CHANGE!!! How many of you are already starting to panic? How many of you are planning a winter vacation in February or March and are starting to dread the thought of pulling out your bathing suit?? DON'T PANIC!! I know how you feel, I've been there!  Yoyo diets, crash diets, now it's a lifestyle!!  I will give you all the tools that were given to me to succeed! Hmmm... What do I Want?... NOTHING!

So I see this a lot (and I myself have been guilty of it too)... Walking by a vending machine or opening the door to the fridge looking up, down, left and right and thinking "Hmmm... What do I want to eat?"

Well the answer to that question is simply NOTHING!... This post I am going to talk about false hunger cravings.

I Must Be Crazy… Another Challenge!

I just finished the United Walk-A-Thon challenge last month and now I'm in another one. This time, it's the Greater Waterbury YMCA's Ironman Triathalon challenge. My friend at work must be right, I guess I'm obsessed with competitions.

This challenge is more about accountability. It's making sure that everybody is exercising. I'm already using the treadmill 5 days a week, why not just keep track of it for the Y? It will be fun to see how much I actually do at the end of the challenge.

Stop!... Don't "Lose" Weight!... WHAT?!?!?!

That's right don't "lose" weight... Now I know "lose" is "just" a word... But is it?... Can ONE WORD be the secret to weight loss?

While it may be no secret that millions of Americans are struggling to lose weight, the answers to those struggles could be quite simply one word. Lose. One mistake people commonly make is they want to “lose” weight. The intention is good. But the meanings that people subconsciously associate with the word "lose" are not beneficial to successfully keeping the weight off.
